1.  Respect in Sport Parent Program:

Consistent with Hockey Regina's objective of providing a positive experience for players and promoting respect for all involved, Hockey Regina (HRI) Participates in the Respect in Sport (RiS) Parent Program. This one hour on-line certification program is intended to assist parents in being the best sport parent they can be.  The program focuses on children's safety, personal, psychological and physical development and the role parents' play.  It also impresses the need to establish positive relationships with referees, coaches, players, opponents and other parents. HRI player registrations will require completion of this on-line course by one parent or guardian for the players under their care.  Players will not be registered and they will not receive an invitation to evaluations until the RiS certificate number has been provided.

2.  Fees:

The fee structure for Hockey Regina Inc. (HRI) is comprised of two parts: the HRI fee and the team fees.  The HRI fee is set prior to the start of the season for each division based on components such as ice time, equipment, referees, etc.  Each individual team sets their fees based on activities they wish to partake in outside of the ice sessions provided to each player by HRI.  These activities may include extra practice ice times, tournaments, pictures, dryland etc.  The teams generally hold a parents' meeting once the team is formed and set up their agenda for the season.  Some teams do some fundraising to offset additional costs, but this is left up to the individual teams.  Many teams do not ask for this additional money at the beginning of the season, but rather in post-dated cheques or fundraising commitments.  The remaining portion of the HRI fee will be due and payable once they make a team and a manager/treasurer is picked to collect these fees.  The teams are required to pay HRI shortly after their formation as part of the HRI fees collected is used to pay for the insurance for each child that must be in place before the players begin their regular season.
