2022 WHL U15 Draft

In total, there were 240 players drafted in the 2022 WHL U15 Draft, with 50 players from Saskatchewan selected.

Congratulations to the 7 HRI players drafted:

  • Dayce Derkatch, Forward, 64th overall to the Prince Albert Raiders
  • Caleb Potter, Defense, 104th overall to the Seattle Thunderbirds
  • Taylor Tabashniuk, Goalie, 127th overall to the Red Deer Rebels
  • Steven Steranka, Forward, 148th overall to the Red Deer Rebels
  • Ryan Ulmer, Forward, 153rd overall to the Seattle Thunderbirds
  • Logan Mehl, Forward, 191st overall to the Kelowna Rockets
  • Eric Han, Forward, 205th overall to the Kelowna Rockets

For those that did not have their names called, do not give up as over 20% of players on WHL rosters were never drafted.  There are many great players from Regina that were never drafted:

    • Played 2 years for NCAA Division 1 University of Denver Pioneers
    • 2019 Stanley Cup Winner
    • Currently playing for the St. Louis Blues
  • JC Lipon
    • Played 4 years with the Kamloops Blazers
    • Member of the 2013 Canadian World Junior team
    • 3rd round draft pick of the Winnipeg Jets
    • Currently playing for the Novosibirsk Sibir (KHL)
