Vaccine passports in City of Regina Arenas

Oct. 26, 2021

Effective Monday, November 1, 2021, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result will be required for anyone over the age of 12 to access all indoor facilities and arenas, including the Co-operators Centre.

In HRI's discussion with City management, the City will have a 3 month leeway in place for those turning 12. It is also anticipated the vaccination for children age 5-11 will be announced soon.  Should the proof of vaccination/negative COVID testing requirement be expanded to include this group, the City will implement an approach that provides adequate time for children to be vaccinated based on the Government of Sask's vaccination rollout.

The City will have either staff or security at Arena’s to check patrons proof of vaccination or negative test result. The City arena’s will only open 30 mins before the first booking of the day.

The City reminds patrons that masks are required in all indoor spaces regardless of vaccination or testing status.

Proof of Vaccination

All patrons accessing indoor City of Regina facilities (including the Cooperators Centre) will be subject to a proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test requirement. Those aged 12 and over must be able to provide proof of vaccination status upon entering the facilities for the purposes outlined above. Only those individuals who are fully vaccinated or who can provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours will be allowed to enter the facility.

Residents under the age of 12, who are currently unable to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, will be exempt from the proof of vaccination requirement including the alternative of a negative test. For those children who are just turning 12, there will be a three month leeway (from the date they turn 12) where they are exempt from the requirements while they are getting vaccinated. After the three month leeway they must either be fully vaccinated or provide a negative test.

Any one of following will be accepted as proof of vaccination at City facilities:

  • Wallet cards received at time of immunization
  • A printed copy or screenshot of your MySaskHealthRecord vaccination certificate (with or without a QR code)
  • A COVID-19 vaccine printout from SHA Public Health
  • A QR code/MySaskHealthRecord vaccine certificate uploaded to SK Vax Wallet app
  • Official proof of vaccine documents from other governments may be considered

Proof of Negative Test

Individuals who do not have proof of vaccination have the option of providing proof of a negative COVID-19 test result from within 72 hours. These tests can be either rapid antigen, or a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, and must be administered by an approved location/lab as listed on the Government of Saskatchewan's website. As per the Government of Saskatchewan's directive, self-administered take-home rapid antigen tests will not be accepted as valid proof of negative COVID-19 test results.

ID Required

In addition to the proof of vaccination, photo ID will be required from anyone 18 and older. Youth aged 12-17 will also need to show ID unless accompanied by an adult with proof of vaccination and ID. Youth aged 12 to 17, visiting a business without an adult, who do not have photo ID will be allowed to present other forms of government issued ID such as birth certificate or health services card.
